Just Survive Wiki:Admin noticeboard

From Just Survive Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues[edit source]

[edit source]

Sorry to hear your having issues with the game but this is a "Community" run wiki and not the official Daybreak support pages, please contact Daybreak support with any in game or technical issues you are having with the game. Toadem (talk)

Early access keys?[edit source]

Hey guys, just wanted to know if they results for the editing wiki contest have been announced and winners given their keys or if we need to wait. PS: If you haven't then I have done a good job on the overview of what we know so far in the discussions section.

I'm still waiting for the people involved with the contest to get back to me, but i'll let everyone know as soon as i hear anything — Game widow (talk) 17:19, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
We will post the winners soon. We had hoped that Early Access would be available on the 16th, so for now we may just collect everyone's information so we can be sure to get you guys codes the moment H1Z1 Early Access begins. CrsBenjamin 17:39, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Map page[edit source]

There is currently a huge war going on in the maps page which needs to come to an end as it is now ridiculous. Just look through the history and you will see what I mean. People are adding their own map images on the sides with links to their site, constantly changing the order and defacing the descriptions of other sites. I think the fairest solution would be to alphabetize the list, limit to short descriptions and to not also add images on the side which link to their sites. The war is real, and its getting very very bitter. I am getting fed up of this childish behavior by other map hosts and having to constantly monitor to make sure someone has not defaced my description.

Signing your posts might be a good start — Game widow (talk) 14:17, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Sorry Im not really much of a wiki user, I am just tired of peoples underhanded tactics. Thank you for sorting it, although its not quite alphabetical (And no, that would not put my site at the top, it just seems the fairest way). Thank you for sorting that out, its been driving me nuts. Riith

== I would suggest arrange the page the way you want it GW and just lock that page, dont allow any more edits to it. Toadem

Toadem Hi there, First off thanks for the information and all of the help you are providing for the community in this wiki. Please remember this is a fan created wiki and as such are not related to SOE or the development team of H1Z1, I would like to think that the developers read the information here but any in game bugs should be directed towards the actual development team on twitter at @H1Z1Game or reported in their reddit pages. For the information of others reading the wiki it would also be most helpful and appreciated if you could add the found bugs to the items discussion page so that anyone interested can check the discussion there to identify any known bugs with items they are researching on this wiki. Once again, thanks for all the hard work and dedication. Toad.

hey guys its me, i just wanted to let you guys know that i found a bug/brake in the map at this location X=2514.160 Y=101.070 Z=-3074.140

Read this post on the the H1Z1 forums please.
Afterward, the bugs you find will be noticed by posting them here: h1z1.soeissuetracker.com -- PicayuneCoterie (talk) 13:35, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

So today, logged on was punched to death within 10min. Next crash, crash, crash even after clearing cache from steam. Next killed by hacker with sniper rifle under the ground. Then played for a while, but kills kept falling through the earth, like wtf. How many glitches do you have with an alpha, I have never seen one this bad.
Lots of functionality is not there, like being able to crouch or go prone while in a car (that is realistic). This game is fun if your playing with friends, but single player you will not see many people buy this game. You will need to put in some content for parties, quests, achievements something.
Next, FIX THE DAMN GATE OPEN/CLOSE, this is freaking is easy programing I'm not understanding how one object is not called on from X feet away from the entire object. Upper walls should be able to be put on whenever you like, as of now you cant out on upper walls if you built by the lower wall already. Foundations need to be easier to place, like together or something. Spreading bases out is really annoying.
There should be other modes of transport instead of just a car, running takes to long and is a waste of players time if he gets killed close to his base running back. Falling through your own foundations??? No clue, thought that would be fool proof. Start thinking creative, because this game is gonna go down the Sh*ter quick if you don't start fixing these items.
PS. If most of the kinks are not ironed out within 1-2months I will ask for return of purchase, due to the game is underdeveloped, and needed more time before releasing it to alpha.

I need help with a template, please.[edit source]

On Template:Skin_infobox, I'm trying to make the 'set' category produce it's own image and image link dependant on what is types into the 'set' box in page infoboxes. For example, If the set is "Flag Bandit Set" I need the image to be of the Flag Bandit Set item and when someone clicks the image, it should bring them to that items page. As well as show the item name beside said image.
I've managed to copy&butcher it all together except for the image link. I know nothing about this language :( . Thanks for the help.
Also, I've seen on other wiki's (like minecraft) some navboxes have a [hide] and [show] buttons to min/maximize those that are rather large. I don't know how to do this, but if someone can do it, or tell me the code and pages that need to be made to make it happen, that'd be amazing. -- PicayuneCoterie (talk) 02:44, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Sorry i never saw this. I've given you a {{navbox}} template that does the show/hide bit — Game widow (talk) 23:47, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

infoboxtable acting weird[edit source]

Game Widow, I've created a new infobox for update pages but it doesn't seem to be acting like the other infoboxes. Even if I copy and paste entire blocks of code. This new template has everything shoved off to the right and the infobox itself seems larger than the rest. Check it out on this test page I made. Is there a way to fix this and make it look like the other infoboxes? I assume it has something to do with this, but that's way outside of what I'm comfortable with. -- PicayuneCoterie (talk) 23:31, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

I made a few changes. Do they make it act a bit better? if not, could you provide a screenshot illustrating what is not right? — Game widow (talk) 23:42, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
It looks great. Thanks for the quick response too!. -- PicayuneCoterie (talk) 00:57, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
Excellent :) and you're welcome — Game widow (talk) 01:51, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Zombie Nav[edit source]

Hey all, was looking to add a section for zombie wikis to the bottom of the main page. Any objections? Example:

Let me know what you think!SandovalCurse (talk) 20:37, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

I'm completely fine with this. --PicayuneCoterie (talk) 02:48, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Creating pages for our Chinese readers[edit source]

We have a new member that has contacted me via Steam. He would like to create pages in Chinese (Simplified). His account is Vigtigste.
I don't know how to add these language sub-wikis though. If someone could help us out, that'd be great. --PicayuneCoterie (talk) 03:52, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Hey PicayuneCoterie, first you'll need to install and configure MediaWiki language extension bundle on the wiki. The software bundle can be downloaded using this link. Afterwards, do the following:
  1. PicayuneCoterie must have a role as a translation administrator and should:
    1. Open the main page H1Z1_Wiki.
    2. Wrap the whole content inside the original English main page H1Z1_Wiki within the tags <language /><translate>...</translate> and save the page. After saving the page, you will see a link at the top of the page saying Mark this page for translation.
    3. Click this link, then click the Mark this version for translation button and return to the main page. Now you will see a new link at the top Translate this page, that lets translators translate the page.
  2. Now, Vigtigste should
    1. Open the main page H1Z1_Wiki
    2. Click Translate this page.
    3. Translate the content.
    4. When done translating, click the Marked for translation link at the top.
    5. Observe the changes and if it is ok, click the Mark for translation button.
    6. Return to the original page.
And what I just figured out, is that the wiki already gets translated in Chinese. Check it out here!
Hope this helps ;-)?
